Segmented bio-based polyurethane composites containing powdered cellulose obtained from novel bio-based diisocyanate mixtures

Abstract A considerable number of research works focus on the positive influence cellulose properties polymer-based composites and their wide range application possibilities. The present work is focused synthesis novel bio-based polyurethane (bio-PU) filled with powdered (microcellulose, MC) in an amount 5 wt.%. Bio-PU were synthesized via a non-solvent prepolymer method. First, was from diisocyanate mixture based hexamethylene polyisocyanate Tolonate™ X Flo 100 α,ω-oligo(ethylene-butylene adipate)diol which contained cellulose. Then, resulted extended by 1,4 butanediol (bio-BDO). obtained different [NCO]/[OH] molar ratios: 0.95, 1.0, 105 1.1. Special attention paid to MC phase separation between soft hard segments bio-PU studying chemical structure, morphology thermal mechanical prepared cellulose-based composites.
